At New Pathways, we rely on volunteer counsellors to help us offer support to victims of sexual violence in South Wales. This year has seen some great recognition for the fantastic work our volunteer counsellors do, with them winning multiple awards!
It all kicked off on 12th June with the WCVA awards ceremony, where our counsellors won the ‘Volunteer of the Year’ Collective Award.
On 10th October Cate Harding-Jones, one of our Merthyr counsellors, won ‘Adult Volunteer of the Year’ at VAMT’s Third Sector Excellence Awards.
And 14th November saw the BAVO (Bridgend Association of Voluntary Organisations) award ‘Highly Commended Certificate: Volunteer Project of the Year’ to our Bridgend Volunteers, and ‘Volunteer of the Year – Over 25’s’ to Ruth Weltch, a volunteer counsellor with the Parc Prison Outlook Project.
Once again massive congratulations to all of our volunteers, without whom we wouldn’t be able to provide support for so many victims of sexual violence!
