Lived experience group for survivors of sexual violence

Dyddiad: 21 Medi 2022 | Gan: newpathway

Listening to survivor voices and consulting with clients to shape our services is at the heart of what we do. We want to provide the best possible support, and we can only do that by listening to the needs of those affected by sexual violence. This is why we have a lived experience group for survivors of sexual violence, and are creating a consultation panel.

We are calling for current or past clients of New Pathways to join our lived experience group and have your say. We currently have two  different opportunities available.

Lived Experience Group

We are proud of our lived experience group, and over the years they have made a massive difference to the lives of other survivors.

The current group has been running since 2019 and has helped us with many different ideas and developments, including contributing to Government policy, sitting on advisory panels, co-creating resources, informing our website development and providing lived experience consultation for a local play. By sharing their experiences of our services, we have implemented new projects and services, including our Wellbeing services which came from their advice about support for people on waiting lists for counselling.

We are currently recruiting for further members and are looking to broaden the diversity of experiences within the group, particularly survivors whose voices are not often heard.

If you are a past or current client interested in our group, please email enquiries@newpathways.org.uk to find out more, to have a conversation about what is involved, or to join the group.

Male Consultancy Panel
We would like to involve more male clients in looking at the shape of services offered by New Pathways.

We are creating a consultancy panel of male survivors to look at our services for males and to tell us what you think, share ideas of anything we can add, do differently, or that will better encourage males to engage and get the best possible support.

This panel will be taking place on 6pm, 27th Oct via Zoom.

If you are interested, please contact Matt.Sheehan@newpathways.org.uk.
