We recruit for volunteer counsellors twice a year, during the Spring and Autumn. This role is often taken on by counselling students requiring a placement. We also welcome qualified counsellors across varying counselling approaches.  Volunteers must have already achieved a Certificate in Counselling at Level 3 and be commencing on or studying at level 4 or above.

What you can expect from us

• Information evening to introduce agency and volunteer role
• Assessment process with training
• Accredited training (find out more about our volunteer training here)
• CPD opportunities and ongoing training on a variety of subjects
• Appropriate Supervision (BACP) – An hour and a half every four weeks
• Full insurance cover
• Support by Senior Qualified Counsellors and a designated Volunteer Coordinator.

What we expect from you

• Commitment to complete all role related mandatory training
• To sign up to a volunteer agreement
• Commitment to New Pathways: 12 months for at least 3 hours per week

This role is suitable for anyone interested in gaining more experience within a specialist professional agency.  The role would include helping with cover at one or more of our locations on an ad hoc basis as well as taking telephone calls, carrying out administrative tasks and welcoming clients/visitors.
